To celebrate Easter...

... the "Pogne" is the ceremonial cake that commemorates this holiday and the return of spring.

Our elders here ate this cake, and Jean-Michel Effantin's grandfather would repeat this phrase: "Paqueti-Paquetaa, toujoo en plena luna de maa(rs)," a musically sentence adapted into a rhyme, "taa-maa," which translates into french as "May Easter be early, may Easter be late, always on the full moon of March."

Jean-Michel continues the tradition of making pogne at home and has volunteered to train over 300 people. When he was young, almost all of his wives and aunts prepared their "egg pogne" for Easter and shared it with their relatives, neighbors, and friends on Mondays.

The recipe. Enjoy! (unfortunately only in french)
